We are the children of a civilization that gave the world zero, that calculated the distance to the sun when others thought the earth was flat, that built the most sophisticated ancient universities which drew scholars from distant lands. Today, we stand at a crossroads – our Mother India calls us to reclaim our rightful place as Vishwa Guru, the teacher of the world.

i-Max was born from the pain of seeing our brilliant young minds – the future of our great nation – lose their way in an education system that has forgotten its roots. When we witness our 18-19 year olds, who should be dreaming of conquering the world, instead falling into the abyss of depression and substance abuse, our hearts bleed. These are not just statistics – these are our brothers and sisters, the children of Bharat Mata, whose potential remains untapped.

Look around you, fellow Indians. Our precious iron ore – the wealth of our sacred soil – leaves our shores at 40 paise per kilogram, only to return as finished products at around ₹6,000 per kilogram. This 60,000-fold value addition happens on foreign soil, more precisely at an enemy’s soli, while our own engineers watch helplessly. Is this what our freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for? Every such transaction drains not just our wealth, but the very opportunity for our youth to learn, to innovate, to create.

From our mobile phones to our computers, from our textbooks to our technology – everywhere we look, we see foreign names, foreign innovations, foreign success stories. We, who comprise 20% of humanity, who inherit the legacy of Aryabhata and Sushruta, of Raman and Bose – have we become mere consumers in the global knowledge economy? This question burns in our hearts at i-Max.

When we see our precious electronic industry importing 85% of its components, we see not just a trade deficit, but a deficit in our educational system. Each imported semiconductor chip is a reminder of an innovation that could have been born in an Indian lab, of a patent that could have carried an Indian name.

And what breaks our heart most is watching billions of dollars and countless brilliant minds leave our shores annually in search of “better education.” Was it not India that once hosted the world’s first universities? Did not scholars traverse dangerous seas and mountains to study in our ancient seats of learning?
